About The Awards

The Community Impact & Leadership Recognition Awards honor Twin Cities individuals and organizations whose work embodies the values and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Nominees should demonstrate a meaningful commitment to one or more of the following:

  • Advancing racial equity and justice.

  • Creating a culture of belonging and inclusion.

  • Strengthening community wellbeing.

  • Expanding opportunity through education, service, advocacy, or economic justice.

  • Building partnerships that create lasting, positive change.

Selected honorees will be recognized during the 2027 MLK Breakfast.

Key Dates

  • Nominations open: October 15, 2026

  • Nominations close: November 20, 2026

  • Review and selection: November 23–December 1, 2026

  • Honoree notifications begin: December 2, 2026

  • 2027 MLK Breakfast: January 18, 2027

Selected honorees may be asked to provide a short biography, headshot, organization logo, and/or photo or video assets in December for event recognition materials. Dates are tentative and subject to change.
