  • This Year's Breakfast

The General Mills Foundation and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) are pleased to present the 28th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast. Dr. King had a bold dream. He built bridges to achieve justice through empathy, understanding and actionable change. This breakfast is an opportunity to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy of service and be inspired to carry out his bold dream today. Proceeds will benefit the Minneapolis Chapter of the UNCF, helping provide four-year college scholarships to deserving low-income students.

This year’s keynote speaker is David Oyelowo (pronounced “oh-yellow-oh”), a British-Nigerian actor and producer. David played the role of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the Oscar-nominated film Selma (2014), for which he was personally nominated for a Golden Globe and won an NAACP Image Award. David has also played leading roles in A United Kingdom (2016) and Queen of Katwe (2016), among other roles in critically acclaimed films, plays, and television series.

We will also have entertainment this year with guests Sounds of Blackness’.

Please join us in building bridges for Dr. King’s bold dream!
